New Orleans Guest House : Hotel Policies

At the New Orleans Guest House, we pride ourselves on offering a safe and welcoming environment for all our guests. To ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance with our insurance policies, we enforce the following stay limitations. 

 

Stay Policy

Maximum Stay Limit: Our hotel enforces a strict 14-day maximum stay policy. Under no circumstances do we offer long-term rentals beyond this period. This policy is in place to ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests. 

Local Guests: For guests residing in the local area, we have a maximum limit of 3 nights. This policy is designed to maintain the safety and integrity of our establishment. Please note that this blanket policy is not directed at any specific individuals or groups. Mandatory inspections of the guest room will be performed daily with or without the guest present. 

 

Pet Policy

  • There is an additional $35.00 per day charge added to the daily room rate for guests with pets.
  • A pet deposit of $100.00 will be applied upon check-in to the hotel. 
  • Upon checkout, rooms will be inspected and deposits will be refunded. 
  • Only one dog is allowed per room, and the dog must weigh 25 pounds or less.
  • The dog must be visually verified by a staff member in the lobby at the time of check-in: there are no exceptions to this requirement. 
  • All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when outside of their room. 
  • Pets are only allowed in their owner’s room. No visiting any other rooms. We have designated pet-friendly rooms for the safety of other guests with allergies.
  • When walking your pet, it is the owner’s responsibility to pick up after their pet.
  • There are no cats allowed. 
  • Pets are not to be left unattended in the rooms for any amount of time. 

 

Check-In/Check-out Policy

  • Check-In Time: 3:00pm – Guests are welcome to check in starting at 3:00pm. Early arrivals may inquire about early check-in options, which are subject to availability. 
  • Check-Out Time: 9-11:00am – We kindly ask that all guests check out no later than 11:00 am sharp! This allows us sufficient time to prepare rooms for incoming guests. 
  • Late Check-Out: Late check-out is available for a fee of $25.00 and subject to availability. You have to notify the front desk before 11:00 am to arrange this service. 

 

Cancellation Policy

  • Free Cancellation Deadline: We require a 24- 48 hours notice on reservations to receive a full refund. 
  • Special Events Cancellation Fees: There is a 24 hour deadline after booking for cancellations during special events (Mardi Gras Season, Jazz Fest, Super Bowl, Bayou Classic, Essence all major holidays).
  • No-Show Policy: In the event of a no-show, the guest will be charged for the first night room rate and taxes. 

 

Payment Policy

  • Accepted payment Methods: We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards and cash. 
  • Deposit Requirements: There is a $100 CREDIT CARD deposit for all rooms and an additional $100 deposit for all pets. Deposits are collected at the time of check-in. Following room inspection after checking out these deposits will be refunded within 3-5 business days. 
  • Payment Schedule for Extended Stays: For guests wishing to stay an additional night, all payments must be handled between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM.

 

Room Occupancy Policy

Maximum Occupancy:

  • Single Rooms: A maximum of 2 guests are allowed per single room.
  • Double Rooms: A maximum of 4 guests are allowed per double room. 
  • Houses: A maximum of 8 guests are allowed per house.
  • Additional Guests: For each additional guest beyond the maximum occupancy, a fee of $10 per night will apply,during special events this charge will be $50 per night. This fee will be applied at check-in.

 

Smoking Policy

  • Non-Smoking Rooms: Please note that ALL of our rooms are designated as non-smoking. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our rooms smoke-free. This includes vaping.
  • Smoking Area: Guests who wish to smoke or vape may do so in our designated courtyard area where we have provided tables, chairs and ashtrays. We ask that all smoking be disposed of properly in the provided ashtrays and trash cans. There is NO staying in the doorway of the room with the door open while smoking.
  • Smoking Fees: Each room is thoroughly inspected after check out. If it is determined that smoking occurred inside of the room, the entire deposit will be forfeited by the guest. 

 

Housekeeping Policy

  • Daily Cleaning: For guests staying multiple nights, we offer room refresh services upon request. Please communicate your wishes to the front desk. 
  • Towel/Linen Replacement: For guests staying longer than 3 days, housekeeping will conduct a mandatory inspection. During the inspection, all towels, linens, and toiletries will be replaced and the room will be freshened up for guests. 
  • Additional Towels: Additional towels and toilet paper are available upon request at the front desk at all times during your stay. 
  • Right to Refuse Service: The Historic Mardi Gras Inn  reserves the right to refuse to rent, deny service, or provide refunds to any guest who does not comply with these policies. Our priority is to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and consistent experience for everyone who stays with us.

  • Pre-Authorization: The hotel may pre-authorize the guest’s credit card for the cost of the stay plus an incidental deposit.
  • Advance Payment: Some hotels require full or partial payment upfront, especially for special rates or promotions.
  • Taxes and Fees: Room rates usually do not include taxes and additional fees, which are added to the final bill.

  • Daily Housekeeping: Provided unless otherwise requested by the guest.
  • Maintenance Issues: Guests should report any room issues to the front desk; the hotel will typically respond promptly.

6. Property Damage and Liability

  • Damage Responsibility: Guests are responsible for any damage to hotel property during their stay.
  • Lost and Found: Items left behind may be stored for a limited period; the hotel may dispose of unclaimed items after a certain time.

7. Guest Conduct

  • Behavioral Expectations: Guests are expected to behave respectfully towards staff and other guests.
  • Prohibited Activities: Illegal activities, excessive noise, and other disruptive behaviors are not tolerated.

8. Special Requests

  • Special Accommodations: Requests for amenities like extra beds, cribs, or accessible rooms should be made in advance and are subject to availability.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

  • Privacy Policy: Hotels typically adhere to strict data protection and privacy standards, ensuring that guest information is kept confidential.

10. Additional Services

  • Amenities: Information about access to services like Wi-Fi, parking, pool, gym, etc.
  • Complimentary Services: Some hotels offer free breakfast, shuttle service, or other perks.
