Krewe of Nefertiti Parade 2025

Listen up, party people! Mardi Gras season is upon us, and if you’re not already packing your bags and bedazzling your feathered masks, let me give you one more reason to book that trip to New Orleans: the fabulous Krewe of Nefertiti Parade is back for 2025, and it’s bigger, better, and more bedazzled than ever before! Grab your glitter, because this year’s parade promises to leave you gagging with all its regal realness and throw-worthy goodies.

Now, I’m Karen Brem, your sassy marketing director over at the New Orleans Guest House, located just one short block from the rowdy revelry of the French Quarter. So trust me when I say, if Mardi Gras is a buffet of fun, the Krewe of Nefertiti Parade is that decadent dessert you just have to save room for.

The Theme: “Goddesses of Glam”

This year, the Krewe of Nefertiti is serving some serious goddess vibes with their 2025 theme, “Goddesses of Glam.” Expect a parade dripping in sequins, rhinestones, and gold everything as this all-female krewe pays tribute to powerful women, divine energy, and unapologetic fabulousness. Every float, marching group, and bead-tossing queen will embody the bold, glamorous spirit of this theme, and trust me, you don’t want to miss these queens turning the streets into their personal runway.

When and Where

Mark your calendars, babes: the Krewe of Nefertiti Parade rolls on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM sharp. The parade kicks off in New Orleans East and winds its way through the streets, bringing joy, beads, and some serious sass to the city. While it may not roll directly past the French Quarter, don’t worry—just hop on one of those iconic New Orleans streetcars (visible right from the New Orleans Guest House front door, might I add) and let it whisk you to the parade route faster than you can say, “Throw me something, queen!”

After the parade, you’ll want to head straight back to the French Quarter for some post-parade drinks and debauchery. Pro tip: bring a bag for all those beads and goodies you’ll catch—they’re going to be tossing some treasures you’ll want to hang onto.

A Little History Lesson (Don’t Worry, It’s Fun!)

The Krewe of Nefertiti may not have been around since the days of Cleopatra, but honey, they’ve made their mark on Mardi Gras in record time. Founded in 2018, this krewe is all about celebrating women, community, and that unshakable New Orleans pride. As one of the few all-female krewes, they’ve quickly become a highlight of Mardi Gras season, with floats, costumes, and performances that rival even the oldest parades.

What makes the Krewe of Nefertiti extra special? They’re committed to giving back to the community year-round, hosting charitable events and making sure the Mardi Gras magic extends far beyond the beads and booze. So while you’re catching those throws, remember you’re also celebrating the fierce ladies who work hard to keep the spirit of the season alive all year long.
