OH SO YUMMY!!!
Hello, Jazz Fest enthusiasts and culinary adventurers! Karen Brem here, your friendly neighborhood Marketing Director at the New Orleans Guest House. As we gear up for the sensational New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, taking place from April 25 to May 5, 2024, I’ve got some piping hot news that’s sure to tickle your taste buds and make your festival plans even more exciting.
First things first, let’s talk about your stay in New Orleans. At the New Orleans Guest House, located just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the festival grounds, we pride ourselves on offering clean, affordable accommodations and a warm, welcoming staff that’ll make you feel right at home. And guess what? This year, we’re running a special just for Jazz Fest attendees! For the first time, we are allowing single-night-only stays during the festival. That’s right, you can come for just one day, catch your favorite acts, and not worry about a multi-night commitment. Perfect for those of you who want to dive into the music and culture for a day and then head on out with great memories in tow!
Now, onto the main course—literally. Let’s talk about the famous crawfish bread! This beloved treat is making a comeback this year, and the excitement is as thick as a Louisiana gumbo. John Ed Laborde, the genius behind this delectable creation, is back! After bowing out last year due to rising costs and logistical challenges, it seemed like we had seen the last of this festival favorite. But as it turns out, the road to retirement for Mr. Laborde was just another path back to his loyal fans.
Over the past year, folks from as far away as Kansas traveled to Panaroma Foods in Marksville, LA, just to get a taste of the legendary crawfish bread and to share a moment with John. Wearing their Jazz Fest shirts and caps, they reminded him just how much his creation meant to them. Touched by this outpouring of love and nostalgia, John had a change of heart. “Jazz Fest is a part of my life and my family’s life,” he remarked, inspired by the community’s affection. “When you are getting older, as we all are, you try to cling on to the good things in life, the things that make you happy. Jazz Fest has been good to me.”
And let me tell you, if you’ve never had the pleasure, John’s crawfish bread is something of a culinary miracle. I had my first taste three years ago, and it was nothing short of revelatory. Imagine a flaky crust enveloping a warm, spicy mix of crawfish and just the right blend of cheeses—served piping hot. It’s the kind of treat that doesn’t just satisfy your hunger; it creates memories.
So, as we count down the days to Jazz Fest 2024, make sure to plan a visit to John Ed Laborde’s booth. It’s not just about tasting something delicious; it’s about being part of a tradition that spans decades, a piece of New Orleans’ vibrant cultural tapestry.
Remember, at the New Orleans Guest House, we’re here to make your stay as comfortable and joyful as possible. Book your single-night stay with us, and immerse yourself fully in the rhythm of Jazz Fest, without any strings attached. Whether you’re here for the music, the food, or both, we can’t wait to welcome you.
So, pack your bags, bring your appetite, and prepare for an unforgettable adventure at Jazz Fest 2024. See you soon!
